HATS OFF! 🎉 | #TatakISU Indeed! Isabela State University marks another milestone on its global standing as it displayed remarkable results in this year’s Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.

THE Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess the performance of universities around the world in delivering the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals across four (4) broad areas including: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.

In the first ever bid of ISU to the international ranking, the University got promising standing for three (3) of its 11 SDG entries which include: SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender and Development), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), with SDG 17 (Partnership for Goals), which is a mandatory entry for all participating institutions.

ISU ranked 301-400 of the 876 institutions for SDG 1; Rank 601-800 of the 1081 for SDG 5; Rank 401-600 out of 910 for SDG 16.

For SDG 17, the University ranked 801-1000 out of 1625 institutions.

The final scores were the combination of scores from SDG 17 and the other three SDGs with the highest scores. SDG 17 accounts for 22% of the total score, while the other three each account for 26%.

With this, ISU was ranked 1001+ out of the total 1,705 universities from over 115 nations and regions that applied for the 2023 cycle of THE Impact Rankings. ISU got an overall impact ranking score of 51.3 for the 11 out of 17 SDGs participated.

The 2023 overall ranking score is an average of the previous two years’ total scores. And since this is the first entry of the University to the Times Higher Impact Rankings, the overall score for the 2023 data points of ISU was standalone, thus the ranking.

Daunting as it may for its first ever quest, this allowed ISU to pursue a competitiveness template that would ensure the sustainability of its bid for quality and relevance in higher education and public service. 💯 | with University President Ric Aquino
