The Isabela State University Library of Echague campus is now holding its first Book Fair for this year, 2024, in the Reading Area on the first floor of the Main Library.

The goal of the fair is to promote reading by providing a venue for publishers and book dealers to present books in the different disciplines, as well as for instructors, staff, and students to select books and other materials for the library’s collection.

The Book Fair was properly launched this morning about 8:00 a.m. with a brief presentation and ribbon-cutting led by our very own Executive Officer, Dr. Jose P. Gallena, Jr., with assistance from librarians, students, faculty, book exhibitors and visitors from University of La Salette, Santiago City.

During his Opening Remarks, Dr. Jose P. Gallena, Jr., Executive Officer, underlined that this year’s Book Fair promises to be an enlightening experience for everybody, with a carefully chosen collection of books for use. He pointed out that conducting a book fair is something to captivate every mind and ignite the flames of curiosity within each individual. He added that “beyond the books themselves, the Book Fair is also a testament to the enduring spirit of community and collaboration; it is a testament to the dedication of our librarians, who tirelessly work to foster a culture for reading and learning.”

Finally, the opening ceremony of the Book Fair was a great success, instilling a love of reading and offering a platform for publishers to engage with their audiences. The arrangements and diverse selection of books are really inviting and appealing that everyone loves to explore.
