AiTech Solutions, a startup project from Isabela State University, embarked on a journey with IdeaTech, beginning with 43 startup projects. They secured a spot among the final 25 contenders in the region, showcasing their commitment to technology and agriculture. At the IdeaTech Challenge 2023, held in Cauayan City on September 20, 2023, they impressed judges, earning 2nd place and a prize of 30,000 pesos and an additional 10,000 pesos for being in the top 10 finalists. Their journey continued as they secured a place in the top 10 of the Philippine Startup Challenge 8 in Region-2 held at DICT office Cagayan Valley on October 12, 2023, ultimately achieving the 2nd Runner-Up position.
AiTech aims to align its project with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They achieve this by addressing three key SDGs: SDG1 (No Poverty) through their innovative mung bean variety classifier and grade quality grade segmentation machine that improves smallholder farmers’ income and reduces crop losses, SDG2 (Zero Hunger) by empowering farmers to enhance yields and reduce losses, and SDG12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by reducing food waste, promoting sustainable agriculture, and strengthening economic resilience. AiTech’s project plays a pivotal role in poverty reduction, food security, and responsible consumption and production.
The AiTech team’s journey was marked by crucial support and mentorship from coaches Albert Vinluan and Jesusimo Dioses and guidance from Ma’am Cathleen Madayag, Dr. Christine Charmaine G. San Jose, and faculty members. Their collective efforts were instrumental in aligning AiTech with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieving success. Beyond competition wins, AiTech is committed to making a positive impact by addressing agricultural challenges, upholding the SDGs, and embodying innovation and social responsibility. They aim to enhance lives and provide a brighter future for underserved areas.
