The Isabela State University (ISU) Echague Campus, through the concerted efforts of the Campus Extension and Training Services, successfully hosted a Consultative Meeting and Barangay Integrated Development Plan (BIDP) Workshop on the BIDANI Program. Held on August 18, 2025, at the Climate Change R&D Support Facility Building, the full-day event brought together community leaders to promote sustainable and integrated development at the barangay level.
The workshop was a direct initiative of the Office of the Campus Extension and Training Services. Different colleges’ extension coordinators actively participated, showcasing a university-wide commitment to community engagement. The main objective of the activity was to train local leaders in creating comprehensive development plans designed to meet the specific needs of their communities. A key event highlight was the participation from seven barangays of Echague, Isabela: Salay, Rumang-Ay, Pangal Norte, Pangal Sur, Gumbaoan, San Antonio Minit, and San Juan.
Their presence underscored the strong partnership between the university and the local government units, which is crucial for effectively implementing the BIDANI Program. This collaboration exemplifies the university’s mission to extend its academic and research expertise beyond the campus, directly empowering local leaders to drive sustainable growth and development in their communities. This event is a powerful evidence of the belief that local government units can become the key builders of a brighter and more prosperous future for their constituents through cooperation and strategic planning.
